Internship: Market Research


This internship will be involved in market research centered around key schools, cities, and districts that The Future Project has targeted for marking our transformative coaching model for young people. Research will include organizing external sources and internal historical data to support strategy in an effort to forward organizational goals. Your contribution to our work at this time will help take us into the future, where young people of all backgrounds and means have access to the life-changing work of a Dream Director.     

Specific duties include, but may not be limited to:

  • Conduct market research by city centered around schools and districts in those markets
  • Conduct market research by customer to map competitor overlap
  • Research and update contacts in existing CRM
  • Build standard templates that can be populated for future sales collateral

Additional Opportunities:

  • Will have the opportunity to participate in and learn about how our product serves our mission.
  • Will have the opportunity to participate in and learn about additional communications initiatives such as social media                


  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience conducting research
  • Interested in learning about market intelligence
  • Very task-oriented
  • Self-starter                                 
  • Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills                 

Additional Information:

  • $1,500 stipend x Metrocard
  • Start date: July 11   End date: August 11 (5 weeks)

For the past five years we have accomplished this with more than 30,000 people in high schools through transformative coaches called Dream Directors, full-time TFP employees who are embedded in and dedicated to creating places of possibility within each of our 37 schools throughout America. Today, after 3 years of deep research, evaluation, and measurement, we have established a coaching “product” that we are ready to market to the schools and districts who can pay us, while remaining free of charge who those that cannot.
