The Future Project has teamed up with the Executive Producer of Most Likely to Succeed, a groundbreaking documentary that reimagines the purpose of school. Most Likely to Succeed explains the origins of our schools (designed in 1893 to produce assembly line workers) and why they are failing to prepare today’s students. Directed by acclaimed documentarian Greg Whiteley, the film was an official selection of over two dozen top film festivals, including Sundance, Tribeca, and AFI DOCS, and has been featured at leading education conferences such as ASU/GSV, SxSWedu, and NewSchools Venture Fund.

The Mission and Its Measures

This film is galvanizing a grassroots movement to transform education for the 21st century. In the past year, over 3,000 communities have hosted independent screening events in their schools--making this one of the most successful screening campaigns in history. Our team now looks to build off this incredible momentum to release the film across a series of new platforms. Through these distribution channels, we seek to continue building a community of changemakers taking action to reshape our education system. As such, the Deputy Campaign Director  will help grow the MLTS audience exponentially and develop scalable ways to engage, inspire, and support that community.

The Job: 

Distribution Strategy & Planning

  • Support the Campaign Director in executing educational, digital and consumer distribution strategies which deliver the film to new and wider audiences.
  • Manage planning for these new distribution streams - building detailed action plans, timelines, and budgets, and implementing systems for tracking and driving the team’s progress along them.

Film Kit Production

  • Manage the end-to-end production process of a multi-item film kit, including digital and physical collateral and merchandise.
  • Communicate with contracted design studios, production facilities, and fulfillment houses to scope work, develop budgets, and maintain timelines.

Grassroots Audience Engagement

  • Help plan and produce a national week of action to mobilize the film’s community in promotion of new releases.
  • Coordinate with multiple broadcast partners, a promotional team, and champions of the film nationwide.

Collaborate with the MLTS Digital and Social Media teams

  • Support in managing digital promotional campaigns and website design/development.
  • Translate messaging needs into suggested content and development actions for external teams working on digital strategy and community management.

The Person:

  • Previous campaign management or event production experience is preferred; product management with an understanding of design is a plus.
  • Is committed to making impact at a societal scale. They have sought positions that mobilize large numbers of citizens to think and act differently on behalf of a public good, particularly in regards to education.
  • Manages personal and team action plans with extreme efficiency to accomplish the most amount of impact with the least amount of effort. An evangelist for productivity techniques and a powerful executor.
  • The rigor, quality, and polish of this person’s finished work reveals their belief that the difference between good and great is found in the details.
  • Is adaptable - loves learning and thrives in new spaces.
