Creative Director

The Future Project believes that following one’s dreams is a worthy pursuit and - in partnership with some of the most visionary leaders in America - has become one of the fastest growing national education movements since Teach For America.  We place “Dream Directors” in high schools who enable a team of student leaders to design and execute projects ranging from new business ventures to mobilizing their peers to insist on new classes.  In just four years, our Dream Directors have helped more than 25,000 students put their dreams into action; now we’re looking for a Creative Director who’ll create the possibility for The Future Project to lead a passion and purpose movement that reaches millions.

The Future Project is an organization that runs on magic--and we're looking for a Creative Director to inject magic into every expression of our brand.

Our Creative Director will:

  • Ensure our business strategy and the expression of our brand across products, content, and mediums reinforce one another.
  • Serve as the creative lead on all major products and services, ensuring excellence and coherence.
  • Oversee a rebranding process to transform us from an education nonprofit to a creative team for society, an engine of progress that can impact millions over time.
  • Participate in crafting The Future Project’s most significant public campaigns and help to develop its strategy for reaching and resonating with our target audiences.
  • Developing, growing, and challenging other design professionals to bring their best selves to the work of The Future Project.

Our Creative Director is:

  • A leader with a track record of directing world class output across graphic, experience, technology, film, and information design.
  • An Integrator who brings together different influences to help create transcendent new options.
  • A creative collaborator, with an advanced proficiency in creative products and the capacity to powerfully lead and work with other designers.
  • A strategist who appreciates the power of constraints to generate extraordinary new ideas to emerge that accomplish larger business and social aims.
  • A master storyteller, with a keen eye for art direction in a variety of mediums.

The Creative Director will report directly to the Executive Vice President of our schools work and interface with the Executive Team on a regular basis.

If you're interested in the opportunity, introduce yourself through the short questions below. Those invited to the next step will be asked to submit a brief they've written, the resulting deliverable, and to share reflections on that process.
